Ingredients

6cupschicken broth

3cupssplit lentils

4andouille sausage links,cut into cubes

1½tspcumin,ground

1tspchili powder

½tspturmeric,ground

10ozcremini mushrooms,(2 packages) coarsely chopped

Preparation

Combine the chicken broth, lentils, sausage, cumin, chili powder, and turmeric in a large pot.

Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the lentils are tender.

Stir the mushrooms into the broth mixture.

Continue cooking for about 10 minutes more until the mushrooms are tender.
