Ingredients
1 lb French style bread, the firmer the better
3 ¼ cups milk
3 eggs, lightly beaten
2 tsp vanilla
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ cup pecans
¼ cup raisins, optional
1 cup granulated sugar
6 tbsp butter, melted
½ cup buttermilk
1 tbsp Bourbon
½ tsp baking soda
1 tbsp white corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
Tear the bread into medium-sized pieces and place them in a bowl. Add the sugar and cinnamon
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and vanilla until well-combined. Pour them onto the bread bowl.
Grab a casserole and place half of the bread mixture.
Layer the pecans and raisins. Top it off with the rest of the mix.
Bake 30 minutes or until lightly brown.
In a saucepan, mix the sugar, butter, buttermilk, bourbon, baking soda, corn syrup, and vanilla extract.
Bring to a boil for 1 minute.
Drizzle over the bread pudding and serve warm.
