Ingredients
8ozwheat ciabatta bread,cut into 1-inch cubes
12ozturkey breakfast sausage
2cupsfat-free milk
1½cupreduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese,(4 oz), shredded
10large eggs
½cupgreen onions,chopped
1cupmushrooms,sliced
½tsppaprika
1tspkosher salt
2tbspgrated parmesan cheese
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Arrange bread cubes on a baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for about 8 minutes or until toasted.
Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage to pan; cook for about 7 minutes or until browned, stirring to crumble.
Combine milk, cheese, eggs, parmesan cheese, paprika, salt and pepper in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk.
Add bread, sausage, scallions, and mushrooms, tossing well to coat the bread. Spoon mixture into a 13×9-inch baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for about 8 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Uncover casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 minutes or until set and lightly browned.
Cut into 8 pieces then serve immediately.
