Ingredients
¾cupunsalted butter,softened
1cupbrown sugar,packed
1¾cupsflour
1tspsalt
½tspbaking soda
1cuprolled oats
½cuppecans,finely chopped
4cupsGranny Smith apples,(about 4 apples), cored
4tbspflour
½tspground cinnamon
11ozsoft caramels,unwrapped
3tbspunsalted butter
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with baking spray.
Add the butter and brown sugar to a stand mixer, then mix for about 1 to 2 minutes on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda, then add them into the stand mixer on the lowest speed setting. Add in the oats and pecans until just combined.
Remove 2 cups of the crumb mixture and set aside. Press the remaining mixture into the baking pan and press down gently.
Toss the apples with flour and cinnamon, then add to the crust.
Add caramels and butter to a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave on half power in 30-second increments until smooth.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple mixture. Crumble the rest of the oat mixture over the caramel sauce.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
Let cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
