Ingredients

1½lbground beef,or veal

½red onion

½cupbreadcrumb

fresh parsley

salt and pepper,to taste

1egg

1garlic clove,minced

2tbspolive oil

2tomatoes,diced

1cuptomato paste

½onion,chopped

Italian seasoning

1cupcheese,shredded, mozzarella or cheddar

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Chop the red onion, garlic, and parsley.

Mix the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, and parsley.

Shape into balls around the size of a golf ball.

Heat the olive oil on a cast-iron pan.

Add the meatballs, then leave them on until crispy and brown on the outside.

Add onions to the pot, cook until translucent, then add the tomatoes. Stir to combine.

Add the tomato paste, then simmer for 10 minutes. Add the Italian seasoning.

Transfer the sauce into the cast-iron pan, then nestle the meatballs in the sauce.

Sprinkle the cheese over the meatballs.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with chopped parsley, serve, and enjoy!
