Ingredients
1tbspcornmeal
3cupsflour
1tbspbaking powder
1tspsalt
1tbspsugar
12ozbeer,room temperature
1cupsharp cheddar cheese,shredded
2tbspunsalted butter,melted
Preparation
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Butter a 9×5-inch loaf pan and sprinkle with cornmeal.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and beer in a large bowl.
Gently fold in shredded cheese.
Place the batter in the pan and let sit for 20 minutes.
Bake for 35 minutes, then brush the butter on top of the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
