Ingredients

½cupmilk

½cupwater

3tbspbutterdiced

2tspgranulated sugar

¼tspsaltheaping

½tspvanilla extract

1cupall-purpose flour

vegetable oilfor frying

½cupgranulated sugar

2tspground cinnamon

Preparation

Heat 1½-inches of oil in a heavy bottom pot over medium heat to 360 degrees F.

In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, water, butter, sugar, and salt, then bring the mixture just to a boil.

Once it reaches a boil, remove from the heat and immediately stir in the vanilla and flour.

Stir the mixture with a silicone spatula, then stir until the mixture comes together and is smooth.

Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a large open star tip.

Carefully pipe about 1 to 1½-inches of dough out over the oil.

Using clean scissors, cut the dough at top to allow dough to drop into the oil.

Work in fairly small batches, being careful not to overcrowd.

Allow the churros to fry until golden brown.

Remove the churros with a wire skimmer, then drain them on a plate or baking sheet lined with several layers of paper towels.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Toss the warm, drained churros into sugar mixture to evenly coat.

Serve warm with chocolate sauce, and enjoy!
