Ingredients

2canswhole tomatoes,(28-oz)

cupolive oil

1cupgarlic,finely chopped

2tspgarlic,finely chopped

6basil leaves

salt and freshly ground pepper

Preparation

Crush tomatoes with hands or puree in food processor along with their juices.

Place oil in a large sauté pan or wide pot over medium-low heat. Add onions and sauté until softened. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute, then add tomatoes and juices. Raise heat to medium and bring to boil.
