Ingredients
unsalted butter,1 stick, softened
¾cupslight brown sugar,tightly packed
1tspvanilla extract
⅛tspsalt
¾cupsall-purpose flour,plus 2 tbsp
2½tbspheavy cream
½cupchocolate chips
50small pretzels
1½cupsdark chocolate melting wafers
2tbspnonpareils,for sprinkling, optional
Preparation
In a stand mixer or using a hand-mixer, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Sprinkle in the salt, then stir well.
With the mixer on medium-low speed, gradually add in the all-purpose flour until completely combined. Periodically scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl with a spatula.
Gradually add the heavy cream to mixture until completely combined, pausing to scrape the sides and bottom of bowl.
Stir in the mini chocolate chips
Scoop out a heaping tablespoon of dough, then roll them to form a ball.
Slightly flatten with palm, then place it on top of one pretzel.
Sandwich with another pretzel, then set aside on a wax-paper-lined cookie sheet.
Repeat until all of the cookie dough has been sandwiched.
Melt the chocolate according to the instructions on the package.
Take the pretzel-sandwiches one at a time, then dip them halfway into the chocolate.
Return them to the wax paper, then sprinkle with nonpareils.
Repeat until all the sandwiches have been dipped and sprinkled.
Allow the chocolate to set.
