Ingredients
1lbpenne,or rigatoni
1tbspolive oil
½onion,diced
2clovesgarlic,minced
1tsp*Italian seasoning,(see Recipe Notes for recipe)
⅔cupheavy cream
24oz*marinara sauce,(see Recipe Notes for recipe), or pasta sauce
14½ozpetite diced tomatoes,drained
2cupsmozzarella cheese,shredded
2tbspfresh basil,or parsley
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook pasta in salted water al dente according to the package directions and drain.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a medium saucepan. Add onion and cook until tender. Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning and cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
Add cream, tomatoes, and marinara sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes.
Place pasta in a 9×13-inch pan. Add sauce and toss to combine.
Top with shredded cheese and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until hot and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from the oven, cool 5 minutes and top with fresh herbs.
Serve warm and enjoy.
