Ingredients
2tbspsoy sauce
3tbspcornstarch
1½lbsflank steak,thinly sliced against the grain
¼cupcanola oil,for frying
1tspginger,grated
2tbspgarlic,minced
⅓cupwhite sugar
⅓cuprice wine vinegar
¼cuporange juice
2tsporange zest,optional
Preparation
Add the steak and soy sauce in a large Ziploc bag, leaving some air inside before locking. Shake to combine.
Add in the cornstarch, then leaving air in the bag again before closing, shake until well coated.
Heat the oil on a pan to medium-high heat, then cook the steak strips for 45 seconds on each side.
Transfer the steaks to a plate, then continue to cook in batches.
Drain most of the oil, leaving just 1 tablespoon.
Add in the ginger and garlic, then cook for 30 seconds.
Add in the sugar, vinegar, orange juice, and orange zest, then stir to combine.
Add the beef back in, then toss until the beef is well coated.
Serve with a garnish of green onions or sesame seeds, and enjoy!
