Ingredients
¾cupbutter
1½cupswhite sugar
3eggs
1tspvanilla extract
1⅓cupsall purpose flour
½tspbaking powder
½tspsalt
3tbspcocoa powder
½cupwalnuts,chopped
4cupsminiature marshmallows
1⅓cupssemi sweet chocolate chips
3tbspbutter
1cuppeanut butter
2cupscrisp rice cereal
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, cream ¾ cup of butter or margarine and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat until fluffy.
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa; add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts if desired. Spread in a greased jelly roll pan.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over the cake. Return to oven for 2 to 3 minutes.
Using a knife dipped in water, spread the melted marshmallows evenly over the cake. Cool.
For the topping, combine the chocolate chips, 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, and peanut butter in a small saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until melted and well blended. Remove from heat, then stir in the cereal.
Spread over bars, then chill. Serve and enjoy!
