Ingredients

1tbspvegetable oil

½yellow onion,diced

12ozDr. Pepper,(1 can)

15oztomato sauce,or crushed tomatoes

¾cupbrown sugar,packed

¼cupapple cider vinegar

2tbspWorcestershire sauce

½tspkosher salt

½tsppaprika

¼tspcoarse ground black pepper

1tspcornstarch

Preparation

Add the oil to a Dutch oven on medium heat.

Add the onions and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes until they start to brown, stirring occasionally.

Add in the Dr. Pepper, tomato sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and stir until combined.

Cook for 30 to 35 minutes until the mixture has cooked down by half and thickened.

Use hot over briskets or chicken, and enjoy!
