Ingredients

8ozfettuccini,uncooked

¼cupbutter

1small onion,chopped

2clovesgarlic,minced

1tsplemon peel,grated

½cupheavy whipping cream

¼tspsalt

⅛tsppepper

4ozcream cheese,cubed

2tbsplemon juice

2tspfresh parsley,minced

parmesan cheese,grated, optional

Preparation

Cook the fettuccini according to the package directions, and drain.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter.

Add the onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until tender.

Add the garlic and lemon peel.

Slowly stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper.

Whisk in the cubed cream cheese and stir until melted.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Add in the lemon juice.

Add the pasta, and parsley to the sauce. Toss to coat.

Serve immediately and garnish with lemon peel, parsley, and parmesan cheese, if desired.
