Ingredients

1lblean ground beef

1lblean ground pork

1onion,chopped, divided

4clovesgarlic,minced, divided

1large green bell pepper,chopped

1large red bell pepper,chopped

29oztomato sauce,(4 cans)

4½ozsliced mushrooms,(1 can)

1tbspdried basil leaves,crushed

1tbspdried oregano,crushed

2tbspItalian seasoning

3bay leaves

1tbspred pepper flakes

salt and ground black pepper,to taste

Preparation

In a large stock pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef, pork and onion. Drain fat, and return to the heat.

Stir in the garlic, green and red pepper, mushrooms, and tomato sauce. Stir in basil, oregano, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, and red pepper flakes. Salt and pepper to taste.

Bring sauce to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Let simmer for at least 1 hour; preferably all day.

Serve and enjoy.
