Ingredients
2 1/2 potatoes, cooked, cooled, peeled and sliced
3 1/8 cup warm milk
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 cup American or white Cheddar cheese, shredded
cheese slices, enough for topping
Preparation
Using a pan, cook the potatoes in salted water until they become tender. Then after they’ve cooled, peel them and slice them.
In a heavy saucepan, saute the onions in butter. After some time, add the flour and brown the onions slightly.
Afterward, add in the warm milk, cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook the ingredients until a thick sauce is formed and the cheese is melted.
Gently mix the cheese with the potatoes, then place them in a 9x13-inch pan and top them with cheese slices.
Lastly, bake the potatoes in the oven for one hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Afterward, serve them and enjoy!
