Ingredients

25½ozdry white wine

2oranges,sliced into rounds

½cupbrandy,optional

½cuphoney,or sugar

16whole cloves

4cinnamon sticks

4star anise

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a non-aluminum saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Make sure not to boil so as not to boil the alcohol out.

Reduce heat to medium-low, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours. Strain, and serve warm with desired garnishes.
