Ingredients

1 cup milk

¼ cup butter

1 egg

2 ¼ tsp. instant yeast

3 ½ cups flour

½ tsp. salt

¼ cup sugar

½ cup butter, softened, for brushing on the dough

½ cup sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

3 tbsp. ground cinnamon

½ cup butter, softened

¼ cup cream cheese, softened

1 ½ cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp. milk, if needed

Preparation

Combine milk and 1 cup butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat until butter is melted but milk is not boiling.

Transfer the milk-butter mixture to a stand mixer bowl. Mix in egg and blend in yeast.

Add flour, salt, and sugar. Mix for 5 minutes on medium speed until a ball of dough forms.

Cover dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes.

Add sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.

Whisk together until well combined.

After the dough is ready, roll it out onto a floured surface until it measures approximately 14x9 inches.

Spread 1/2 cup softened butter over dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mix.

Roll into a log and pinch to seal. Cut the log into 12 equal rolls.

Place the rolls onto a greased baking dish and cover in a warm place for 30 minutes to let rise.

After rolls have risen, place in a 350-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool.

Whisk soft butter and cream cheese together.

Add powdered sugar. If too thick, add milk by the tablespoon.

Drizzle the icing over the rolls and serve.
