Ingredients
1¼cupswaterdivided
½cupwhite vinegar
1cupsugar
¼cupcorn starch
red food coloringoptional
Preparation
Add 1 cup of water, white vinegar and sugar to a saucepan, then bring them to a boil.
Add the cornstarch to the remaining ¼ cup of water in a small bowl.
Whisk until the cornstarch has dissolved.
Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan.
Whisk until combined.
Reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cook the sauce for 5 to 7 until thickened.
Add a few drops of red food coloring, if desired, then stir to combine.
Serve with favorite dumplings or other meals, and enjoy!
