Ingredients

2 ½cupspenne pasta

2cupstomato sauce

1lbGround Beef

1/2lbmushroomsliced

3garlic cloveschopped

1 ½tspdried basil

1tspdried oregano

1tspdried bay leaf

1cuponionchopped

2tspgarlic powder

½cupparmesan cheesegrated

Preparation

Boil water with oil and salt. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions. Once done, set aside.

In a medium saute pan, thoroughly cook the ground beef. Once cooked, add onions and cook until translucent.

To the pan, add garlic and mushrooms and stir until mushrooms soften. Once softened, add tomato sauce and dried herb seasonings.

Once simmering, add garlic powder and grated Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.

Slice bread, evenly spread with butter and toast well in a skillet. Once done, mix pasta with prepared sauce and top bread slices with pasta mixture.

Sprinkle with fresh shredded Parmesan cheese to taste, broil lightly, and serve.
