1loafstale whiteor brioche bread

¾cupmilk

½cuppumpkin puree

4eggs

1tbspbrown sugarpacked

1tspvanilla extract

¼tspcinnamonground

butterfor the griddle

½cupgranulated sugar

1tspCinnamonground

maple syrupfor serving

Preparation

Cut the slices of bread lengthwise into sticks.

Heat a large griddle or skillet over medium.

In a large bowl whisk together the milk, pumpkin, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until thoroughly incorporated.

Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon and pour it onto a plate.

Melt approximately 1 tablespoon of butter on the griddle, or enough to coat the entire pan.

Quickly dip the breadsticks into the pumpkin batter, making sure they’re fully coated.

Place the bread onto the griddle. Cook on all 4 sides for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until lightly browned and cooked through.

Roll the French toast sticks in the cinnamon sugar until coated. Repeat in batches until all of the french toast sticks are cooked and coated in cinnamon sugar.

Serve immediately with maple syrup for dipping if desired.
