Ingredients

¾cupunsalted butter

1⅓cupssugar

3large eggs

2tspvanilla extract

1cupwhole milk,at room temperature

2¼cupsflour

2¼tspbaking powder

½tspsalt

*classic buttercream frosting,(see Recipe Notes for recipe)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and butter and flour 2 8-inch cake pans.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt then set aside.

To your stand mixer add the butter and sugar and beat them together for 2 to 3 minutesuntil light and fluffy on medium speed, then add in the eggs 1 at a time 15 seconds apart along with the vanilla then lower the speed to low.

Add the flour mixture and milk, alternating a little of each at a time.

Pour into the cake pans evenly and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Once cakes are cooled frost them with the buttercream frosting.
