Ingredients
¼cupunsalted butter
¼cupall-purpose flour,spooned and leveled
2cupswhole milk
2cupssharp cheddar cheese,grated
2tbsphot sauce
1tspcayenne pepper
salt and pepper,to taste
Preparation
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Sprinkle the flour over the top, stirring constantly, for 1 to 2 minutes until a thick paste forms.
Slowly add the milk to the flour-butter paste in a steady stream, whisking constantly.
Continue cooking, whisking constantly, for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Add the cheese, whisking constantly until it is melted.
Add the hot sauce and cayenne. Taste, then add salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve with nacho chips, and enjoy!
