Ingredients
2tbspvegetable oil
3¼whole star anise,or ¼ tsp five-spice powder
2garlic cloves,thinly sliced
1ginger,(about 2 inches)
punchred pepper flakes
1pork tenderloin,(1 lb)
1tbspsoy sauce
4baby bok choy
¾lbchinese lo mein noodles,or spaghetti
Preparation
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large wok over medium heat. Add the star anise, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes; stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes, until garlic and ginger are just golden.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer garlic mixture to a small bowl; set aside.
Increase heat to medium-high and heat remaining oil in wok. Add pork and stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes, until golden brown all over.
Return garlic mixture to wok; add soy sauce and toss well. Transfer contents of wok to a large bowl; cover and keep warm. Return wok to heat.
Add the bok choy and ¼ cup of water, then immediately cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook, gently tossing halfway through, for about 5 minutes, until bright green and just tender.
Divide the warm noodles among bowls, then top with stir-fried pork and bok choy.
Serve immediately, and enjoy!
