Ingredients

1tbspvegan margarine,such as Earth Balance

2cupspinto beans,canned, rinsed, drained

1½tbsponion,chopped

¼cupsweet pickle relish

2tbspdill pickle juice

2tbspketchup

1tbspmolasses

1tbsptomato paste

1tbspbrown sugar

¼tsphot sauce,such as Tabasco

1dashliquid smoke flavoring

¼tspgarlic powder

¼tspsalt-free seasoning blend

¼tspdry mustard

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Melt the vegan margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion.

Cook and stir for about 5 minutes until translucent. Mix together with the beans in a casserole dish.

Stir the relish, pickle juice, ketchup, molasses, tomato paste, brown sugar, hot sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, salt seasoning, and mustard together in a bowl.

Add to the bean mixture and mix to coat.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour until the sauce is thick and the casserole is heated through.
